The Secret to Losing WeightThe weight loss industry is so huge. If you type “weight loss” into yahoo, there are 108,000,000 listings for this word. Not to mention paid listings, misspellings, and other similar words, like “losing weight.”Everyone is looking for “The Secret,” pill, or way to lose weight. At 38 years old, I have personally been probably gained and lost hundreds of pounds in my lifetime. I can assure you that I have tried nearly every diet. While, I’m not at my ideal weight of 125 pounds, I have successfully managed to remain at approximately 140 pounds for the past year now and I think I’ve finally got it. Secret #1: It is completely up to you. If you’re like me, you were not blessed with the “thin” genes. Understand that the only difference between you and someone who IS blessed with “thin” genes is that we have a choice as to whether to be fat or thin. Those who are blessed with the “thin” genes, have no choice. They are thin no matter what they eat PERIOD. Secret #2: Change your thinking. How many diets and exercise programs have you been so gung ho on, only to find two weeks later, you lost your motivation and you’re back to making excuses again? Within your subconscious mind lies the “program” that will make you fat or thin. Once you have your mental programming changed, it will be much easier for you to stick to a diet and exercise plan. Secret #3: Understand the science behind your metabolism. It really is a scientific, mathematical equation. If you take in more calories than you are burning, you will gain weight. If you take in fewer calories than you are burning, you will lose weight. Secret #4: Drink Water Secret #5: Lift Weights Secret #6: Eat small portions Secret #7: Eat a balance of Protein, Carbs, and Vegetables Secret #8: Do Cardio |
